Touch typing is a skill — once learned, you'll type faster than you can think. Here's how to start.
Sit up straight. Keep your wrists floating — don't rest them on the desk while typing. Your forearms should be parallel to the ground.
Place your fingers on the home row: left hand on A S D F, right hand on J K L ;. The F and J keys have small bumps — feel for them.
Keep your eyes on the screen, not the keyboard. Looking down breaks your rhythm and trains the wrong muscle memory. If you can't find a key, slide your fingers back to F and J to recenter.
Accuracy first, speed will follow. Aim for steady, even keystrokes — don't hammer keys or pause to think.
Hit the spacebar with your right thumb. Many beginners accidentally hit it with their index finger or palm — keep your thumbs rested on the spacebar between words.
Press Backspace with your right pinky to fix errors. If you miss a word, finish it then go back — never break your flow to correct a single letter.

Words appear in the center. The highlighted word is what you type now. Words behind you are dim; words ahead are barely visible. Just start typing — the test starts on your first keystroke.

Pick the level that matches your skill:
Structured practice by keyboard row or skill. Pick a lesson to drill a specific area until it becomes muscle memory.
Click Dashboard to see your progress over time, WPM charts, test history, achievements, leaderboard, and daily streak.
10 focused minutes a day beats 2 hours once a week. The streak counter helps you stay consistent — come back tomorrow.
100 WPM at 70% accuracy is slower in real life than 60 WPM at 98% accuracy — because you'll be stopping to fix errors. Aim for 95%+ before pushing for speed.
If your WPM feels stuck, slow down for a test. Paradoxically, focusing on clean form often unlocks new speed.
Typewriter audio creates rhythm — you can hear if you're typing evenly. Settings → Sound → Keyboard profile picks your machine.

Going from 30 → 60 WPM takes weeks. 60 → 80 takes months. 80 → 100 takes years. Enjoy the journey — every test makes you better.
